OTIS (Odd Things I've Seen): Odd Things My Wife’s Seen III

January 18, 2018 — It’s been more than six years since I’ve done an Odd Things My Wife’s Seen post (here are OTMWS I and OTMWS II). There are a lot of reasons for that, none of which include that she left me for someone who doesn’t pepper her with questions like, “Wanna go see a mummified saint’s arm this weekend?” or “There are petroglyphs on a rock eight hours away that I need to see soon or I’m going to break out in hives.”

For much of the first few years of OTIS, it was just the two of us and a camera, so I always felt like OTIS itself only told half the story. I tried to slip in posts about her experiences when I could, but she hated posing with stuff and this site has a gimmick, you know?

These days, though, it’s four of us, a camera, a couple of phones, and the socials.

Most of our behind-the-scenes photos go on Twitter or Facebook or Instagram, so often an OTMWS post seems redundant. Especially since I think she has more Insta followers than I have OTIS readers.

Still, though, OTIS is the site of record, so not having her on here more feels like a big oversight. I wouldn’t be able to do this OTIS thing without Lindsey, and I wouldn’t be able to do this life thing without her either. Last month we hit our ninth wedding anniversary. It was the same year that we hit the tenth anniversary of OTIS’s debut. If that tells you anything.

So I went through a bunch of our photos from the past few years and found some pics of her at least near oddity. And I tried to mostly pick sites that I haven’t written about on OTIS yet.

Back in the day, it was difficult to get a photograph of her with an oddity. These days, it’s a little bit easier as long as it includes something that came out of her own womb.

Although those things are also…very…odd.
